The Waste and Cleansing team have an exciting permanent leadership opportunity working as the Supervisor Waste Management at Rydalmere Operations Centre.
This position sits within the City Assets & Operations Directorate under the Waste & Cleansing Business Unit. As the Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Waste Management Services with a focus on waste minimisation and reuse strategies and the daily operations of the waste contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and co-ordinate Council's garbage, recycling, and garden waste programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain waste minimisation and waste education programs.
- Research and implement new waste management strategies.
- Supervise and manage staff in the waste management team.
- Support the roll out of Council's new waste services, including the Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) service.
- Support the management of illegal dumping
About You: We are seeking an individual with:
- Tertiary qualification and deemed equivalent experience in a related industry.
- Current Driver's License
- Extensive experience in waste services contract management and system development.
- Strong knowledge of the waste industry and legislation with at least 5 years full-time equivalent waste experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of waste management strategies and initiatives.
- Experience leading, managing and motivating teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in tender development and assessment.
- Experience working in or with Local Government.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $117,832 to $129,758 plus 11.5% Superannuation.
