We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced waste educator to join our Gregadoo Waste Management team!
As the Waste Education Officer, you will provide quality and sustainable waste management services in line with Council's Resource Recovery Strategies and Kerbside Waste Contracts, whilst providing divisional support to the Waste Management Team. This role will help implement new solid waste management strategies and provide assistance with change management practices within the community.

- Permanent, full-time position available (35 hours per week).
- Remuneration package of $3,145.50 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,774.60 gross per fortnight + superannuation.

As the Waste Education Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement waste education programs and strategies to improve Waste Management across the Local Government Area (LGA).
- Develop an annual Waste Education Program for delivery across the LGA.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, council stakeholders and external clients, developing and delivering education related program to build awareness.
- Content development and maintenance of Council's Waste information through social media, website and other collateral.
- Liaise with operational staff and contractors on waste procedure and performance and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Council's communication, engagement and graphic design teams to create materials and education programs that support waste education initiatives.
- Through the contractor compliance obligations monitor and report incorrect allocation of rubbish across the three-bin system.
- Apply for grant opportunities as they relate to Waste Education.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and promotional materials.
As the successful applicant, you will hold:
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role e.g. Communications, Engagement or Education qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience within a similar role.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- General Construction Induction Training Card.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in solid waste management including previous experience developing new strategies, management plans and policies.
- Sound time management, organisational, financial, administrative and business planning skills.
- Highly developed communication skills (oral and written).
