Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB), delivering native title and other services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.
YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

About the Role:
YMAC is currently seeking two full time (75 hours per fortnight) Project Coordinators to join the Governance Support Team in our Perth office on a permanent contract. The Project Coordinator role also functions as an Executive Officer for our Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) clients and is responsible for ensuring the PBC meets its legislative and regulatory obligations. While titled as a Project Coordinator, this role is fundamentally about managing the PBC’s operations and ensuring compliance with the CATSI Act and other relevant laws.
A key focus of the role is working closely with the PBC Board, facilitating and coordinating meetings, supporting governance processes, and ensuring decisions are effectively actioned. This includes organising Board and General meetings, drafting reports and briefs, managing correspondence and liaising with stakeholders including government agencies, legal representatives, and community members.
Beyond governance, the role also involves project coordination assisting the PBC’s in implementing initiatives that support its long term sustainability, economic development, and community interests. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills are essential to navigate the complex cultural, legal and operational landscape of PBC governance
This role is based in Perth, but will require travel to regional centres and remote communities. We are also open to considering regional applicants to be based out of our regional offices.
About You:
You are a proactive and organised professional with strong communication skills and experience in governance or executive office support. You excel at working with boards, facilitating meetings, and engaging with stakeholders. Adaptable and detail-orientated, you can navigate complex cultural and legal environments while ensuring the PBC meets its obligations and long-term goals.

Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a PBC Project Coordinator, Administrator, high-level executive support or similar role
- Experience in Native Title and PBCs or other Aboriginal Corporations (desirable)
- Experience in successful grant applications (desirable)
- The ability to communicate complex information effectively to a range of stakeholders
- The ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step by step action plans
- Familiarity with risk management and identifying work process improvement
- Experience in facilitating large meetings and minute-taking
Additionally, you will have:
- Strong client-facing, customer service standards and teamwork skills
- Strong working knowledge of Native Title processes, PBCs and Future Act procedures
- Hands on experience in working with Traditional Owners
- Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
