Majestic Young Plants is a propagation nursery and horticultural company, supplying wholesale markets both in Australia and internationally with high quality plant material.

We are located in Healesville, Victoria. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced horticulturist to assist in overseeing our production programs and synchronising our tissue culture operations with nursery production.

Key responsibilities-

• Oversee production, operations and provide technical assistance and guidance
• Liaise with and provide guidance on laboratory operations
• Improve and implement production systems and procedures
• Relationship management of new and existing suppliers
• Drive growth through new program development, of new and existing tissue culture programs
• Be willing to adopt and implement a continuous improvement philosophy

Requirements-

• Bachelor level qualification in a crop science or plant biotechnology discipline
• Previous management experience in horticulture or produce, preferably of teams upwards of 30 employees.
• Experienced applicants of at least 5 years background preferred
• Strong knowledge of seedling, vegetative and tissue culture production techniques
• Plant knowledge and understanding of a wide range of varieties
• Experience in international horticulture supply chain and procurement.
• Strong understanding of perishable supply
• Laboratory operations experience will benefit applicants
