About the role

Permanent Part time opportunity to Provide high level social work services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families and/or carers who are with the Women's Business Pathway, Women's and Newborn Services within the Royal Brisbane and Womens' Hospital and Metro North Health. The role will work in partnership with women and their families and/or carers to improve overall social and emotional wellbeing focusing on the needs identified by the woman.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver high level evidence based clinical and culturally safe services, including counselling, to patients accessing the Women's Business Shared Pathway, and across the continuum of care, within a multidisciplinary team, in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and AASW Professional Practice Standards by assessing complex psychosocial needs of clients; utilising a high degree of independence within the work unit, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • Apply high level clinical practice knowledge and skills in the provision of social work clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers, within Maternity and Neonatal Services of the RBWH, and to other stakeholders regarding service delivery and development/ improvement of clinical services.
  • Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within the Women's Business Shared Pathway and comply with departmental, organisational, and legislative requirements, including data collection and departmental and social work team forums.
