About the role
Better Together Community Support is seeking a Psychologist/Intern Psychologist or AASW Mental Health Accredited Social Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families within our local community. As part of our dedicated mental health and wellbeing services, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality support and therapeutic interventions. This position is based from Atherton, 1.5 hours from Cairns, North QLD. This position can be Full time or Permanent part time employment, on negotiation.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for clients
• Provide individual, family and group-based therapy and counselling sessions
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, coordinated care
• Deliver evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based practices and solution-focused therapy
• Maintain detailed client records and documentation in line with professional standards
• Participate in continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience in the provision of mental health and wellbeing services
• Strong therapeutic skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
• Empathy, compassion and a genuine desire to support the mental health and wellbeing of your local community
• Current Drivers License
• AHPRA registered, or hold a Blue Card, or ability to gain a Blue Card.

Qualifications

• Psychologist- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).

• Social Worker- Qualifications in Social work with relevant experience.
• Occupational Therapist with mental health experience
