About the role
Our client is seeking a self-motivated and proactive Human Resources Administrator with an understanding of HR concepts: recruitment, on-boarding, inductions, workplace health and safety and industrial relations (awards, contracts etc.) Along with this, you will be highly experienced with administration and office systems.
This is a full-time position based in Cranbrook 4814 with occasional travel required to other company sites within Townsville.
*This is not an entry-level position. You must have previous experience.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist with policy management as required.
- Provide support on OH&S matters as required.
- Assist with Return to Work, including injury management & worker's compensation.
- Comply with Workplace rehabilitation and return to work (RRTW) programs.
- When required, develop and deliver training programs to Management team and workers.
- Assist with performance and grievance management processes and issues.
- Assist with advice and support of Executives and Managers / Supervisors on the full range of complex and sensitive HR, Safety and Training related issues, including Industrial Relations and relevant legislations.
- Interpret and condense award information and communicate this to Site Managers / Supervisors & Directors and apprise HR Manager of any relevant award / Fair Work changes.
- Assist Payroll team with fortnightly & monthly pay runs. Act as conduit between Payroll and Site Managers when needed to ensure smooth payroll processes.

Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of current Industrial Relations and workplace law requirements
* Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
* Ability to communicate to a broad range of personnel, from Directors to yard/mill hands.
* High-level knowledge of administration, organisational, and office systems.
* Microsoft Office skills
* High level literacy skills
* Ability to work in a team
* High-level communication skills
* Minimum 2 years in HR administration / officer role
* Diploma in HR, Business, or similar preferred
* Cert IV Trainer & Assessor or knowledge of training facilitation
* RRTW registered or ability to achieve
