About the role:
The Administration and Engagement Support Officer will provide a high level of administration support to the Waste and Environmental Department within the Council Services Directorate.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Experience in computerised accounting functions, accounts receivable/rate debtor systems.
- Sound office administration skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word software packages.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral communication, with an ability to communicate at all levels effectively.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
- Must have a current Manual C Class Driver’s License
It would be desirable if you also possessed:
- Previous experience working or living within an Indigenous setting and ability to demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural awareness in the workplace.
- Awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural environment.
- Previous experience in waste management
The successful applicant must also be prepared to travel to remote communities via various means, including 4WD vehicle and light aircraft.
All employment with the EARC is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the inherent requirements to their position.

What you'll get in return:
Full Time Permanent employment.
Level 4 - Salary $73,729 - $80,566 (excluding super and locality allowance) with annual wage increase opportunities built into our EBA.
You will also benefit from annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
Housing and Relocation Assistance are not available with this position. Access to housing in the Nhulunbuy region is a must for the successful candidate.
