The Role

The Cultural Practice Advisor/Case Manager (CPA) is responsible for providing services directly to women who are experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence for the HRT actions. The CPA directly responds to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait HRT clients who are in crisis, providing immediate support to clients requiring risk assessment, safety intervention and planning as well as urgent referrals and supportive monitoring and follow up. You will work collaboratively with team members, HRT core members and other organisations to develop appropriate and innovative responses to prevent violence within the Logan and/or Redlands community.

The CPA will attend the weekly HRT meetings when reviewing First Nations cases to provide a cultural lens to ensure that First Nations clients are appropriately supported within a multi-agency response.

The CPA will also consult with other CFW team members to ensure that our practice is culturally safe.

The CPA will develop approaches to actively engage members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Community and First Nations-led organisations to build meaningful, professional relationships.

Salary and Benefits

SCHADS Level 5.1 $49.28 per hour, full time (38 hours per week)

Temporary contract until 13 January, 2026

Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Experience and Qualifications

Please note, roles above a SCHADS Level 4.1 require completed or working towards tertiary qualifications at a bachelors/undergraduate level or higher. Roles above a SCHADS Level 5.1 require completed tertiary qualifications at a bachelors/undergraduate level or higher.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social work or similar. This is an identified role and we invited Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply. Relevant experience working with families who have experienced domestic and family violence essential.

Knowledge of the complex issues affecting women who have experienced domestic and family violence

Working within current legislation (Child Protection Act 1999) and (Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012)

Demonstrated effective leadership skills and supporting teams.

Excellent written and oral skills, including demonstrated ability to write and present clearly and concisely for other professionals and clients.

Potential Start Dates

This role is available to start on:

  • 10 March 2025

We have set start dates for new team members so that they can undertake our supportive induction process with our Practice and Development Lead and Risk & Culture Officer. This process allows new team members to have set time to learn more about our organisation, our practice frameworks and set up all equipment and logins.
