The Role
Centacare Domestic Violence Services provide a range of high quality, client focused domestic and family violence services in regional South Australia ensuring that victim-survivors and their children experiencing violence are safe and supported in recovery, and in achieving sustainable housing and life outcomes.
The Case Manager is responsible for the provision of specialised domestic violence case management and crisis support responses.
The following key responsibilities will ensure you contribute to the program meeting its objectives.
- Conduct risk assessment and risk review at each point of contact
- Provide support to develop a safety plan
- Provide DFV education and supportive counselling – providing information, education and support services that (re)build resilience, highlighting the strengths of victim-survivors and acknowledging the protective strategies they utilise. Understand that a victim-survivors safety is determined not by their actions, but by the actions of the perpetrator
- Support and advocacy with internal and external providers, including referral to mental health/specialised counselling, family therapy and specialist services
- Assistance to access other appropriate services including health services and family support services
This position is funded on a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2025.

What you need to bring
Essential
- Degree in Social Work
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence
- Ability to travel intrastate when required
- Ability to undertake some work out of standard work hours when required
- Ability to participate in on call roster to provide afterhours crisis response, on-call allowances will apply as per the award
Desirable
- Extensive demonstrated experience in sectors such as domestic and Aboriginal family violence, mental health, homelessness, case management and/or trauma informed service delivery
