About the Role
A well-established construction and flooring contractor is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to oversee project delivery from tendering through to completion. With a strong reputation built on quality, expertise, and innovation, this company partners with large Tier 1 construction firms on a diverse range of projects, from boutique developments to large-scale commercial builds, with values ranging from $50K to $2M.

This role is a hybrid position that combines estimating, project management, and contract administration, offering a unique opportunity to drive project success while identifying new business opportunities.

The Role
As a Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with internal teams, site crews, and external stakeholders, playing a key role in the planning, execution, and completion of concrete flooring projects across Melbourne.

• Project Planning & Delivery: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
• Tendering & Estimation: Identify and assess potential project opportunities, prepare cost estimates, and provide detailed breakdowns for tender submissions.
• Commercial & Contract Administration: Oversee contractual obligations, manage variations, claims, and progress payments, and ensure all financial aspects align with project objectives.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to align expectations and ensure project success.
• Resource & Site Management: Allocate personnel, materials, and equipment efficiently to meet project demands.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Performance Monitoring: Track project progress, addressing challenges and making real-time adjustments to maintain momentum and quality.
• Reporting & Communication: Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
• Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-project reviews to refine processes and enhance efficiency for future projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Qualifications: Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Simpro, particularly Excel and Project.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in concrete flooring, grinding, or surface preparation is highly desirable.
• Project Management Expertise: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery within tight deadlines.
• Contract Administration Experience: Strong understanding of contractual obligations, financial tracking, and commercial risk management.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with the capability to anticipate and resolve project challenges efficiently.
• Communication & Negotiation: Excellent ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring smooth collaboration.
