Job Description

Our Outside School Hours Care service, South Melbourne OSHClub, is looking for a passionate Assistant Coordinator to assist with managing the service and providing engaging programs for our primary-age children.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity offering 25 hours per week (guaranteed minimum) to assist with leading a team of passionate Educators. You will work across split shifts to support the service’s operating hours of Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 9:00am (Rise then Shine Program) and 3:00pm – 6:00pm (Stay and Play Program). You can pick up extra hours during the school holidays too!

About the role

Get ready for an exciting opportunity to co-manage a dynamic team of Educators, where you’ll experience the perfect blend of support and leadership growth! You’ll lead a vibrant before and after-school program at a primary school, guiding children aged 5-12 through fun and enriching activities. With the backing of a dedicated state-specific office and the mentorship of regional managers who visit regularly, you’ll be empowered to shine in your role while developing your skills as a leader. Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!

Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents

Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management

Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

Qualifications

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

✔️ Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact
✔️ Communicates clearly and confidently
✔️ Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role
✔️ Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check
✔️ Has Australian work rights
✔️ Obtained or studying towards a relevant qualification to work with kids in OSHC per ACECQA
