Assistant Coordinator – Maroubra

We are now seeking an Assistant Coordinator to join our before and after-school care service at the picturesque St. Mary St. Joseph Catholic Primary School in Maroubra.

In this role, you will be responsible for caring for primary school-aged children within a dedicated space. The centre strives to provide a holistic program that fosters children’s growth and development in a nurturing, natural environment.

The Role

As an Assistant Coordinator, your passion for childcare will shine through in your compassionate, friendly approach to interacting with children. You will be responsible for:

• Acting as the responsible person for the service.
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive OSHC environment for both staff and children.
• Managing children’s attendance and casual bookings to ensure safety and proper supervision.
• Supervising other educators, ensuring they understand and perform their duties effectively.
• Supporting the design and implementation of engaging educational programs, including observations and reflection journals.
• Creating opportunities to share children’s participation and engagement with families.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with families and the school community.

This is a permanent, part-time position offering 33 hours per week.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

• Hold a qualification in Child Education and Care (or be working towards one).
• Have prior experience in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC).
• Hold a Certificate in Child Protection training.
• Have current First Aid certification.
• Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check, or be willing to obtain one.
