As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and help expand our market presence.
Role Overview:
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with key clients, and driving the growth of our heavy haulage transport division. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, sales expertise, and industry knowledge to effectively manage client relationships and close high-value contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within heavy haulage sectors. Proactively engage with potential clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty. Act as the primary point of contact for major accounts.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes and adherence to company policies and regulations.
- Market Research: Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (operations, drivers, etc.) to ensure that client expectations are met, services are delivered seamlessly, and potential issues are proactively addressed.
- Reporting: Track sales performance, maintain an up-to-date pipeline, and report on progress against targets to senior management.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within the heavy haulage industry.
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, heavy haulage operations, and the challenges faced by clients in these sectors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships.
- A strong track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while also being an effective team player.
- A valid driver's license is required (heavy vehicle endorsement is a plus).
- Flexible and open to travel as needed to attend client meetings, with strong focus on building trust and fostering professional relationship.
