With offices in Collingwood and the outer fringe of Melbourne, they have maintained a strong reputation in the industry for design excellence and strong relationships.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading all new business development activities across the studio’s locations. This role will focus on fostering senior-level client relationships, expanding networks, marketing strategy, bid management, and driving strategic growth initiatives. As a senior leader, the Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with the leadership team to implement business strategies and achieve financial and non-financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts to enhance the firm's reputation and market position in line with strategic goals
  • Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships across all sectors, identifying and converting business opportunities
  • Oversee the implementation of business development management systems and policies to drive growth
  • Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of client services, proposals, and bid submissions
  • Manage the preparation and execution of high-quality bid submissions, including presentations and reports
  • Identify and monitor market trends, industry developments, and new business opportunities
  • Lead marketing initiatives, including managing social media content, website updates, and branding consistency
  • Establish and maintain a 12-month forecast model for billings with high accuracy
  • Organize and lead business development meetings, ensuring follow-ups and action tracking
  • Train and mentor staff in business development strategies, bid techniques, and client engagement

Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record in a business development, marketing, or bids role, preferably within the architecture, design, or construction industry
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor staff
  • Established network of industry contacts and strong client relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in business strategy, market analysis, and financial forecasting
  • High-level expertise in bid preparation and submission management
