About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the National People & Culture Manager will be responsible for leading and providing quality people information, advice and support to the CEO, ELT, Board, HA Staff and MA CEO’s (within the Shared Services Agreement) with a range of strategic and operational People & Culture initiatives to create high levels of employee engagement, development, performance and wellbeing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and foster a values-based, wellbeing focused performance culture, continually evolving the employee experience and driving to lift engagement levels
  • Provide timely, best practice, expert advice and guidance to employees and managers in HA and MAs within the Shared Services Agreement on all P&C related issues in the employee lifecycle including policy, attraction, retention, conditions of employment, entitlements and performance
  • Lead the end-to-end talent recruitment process including candidate pipelining, advertising, shortlisting applications and leading interviews for HA and MAs within the Shared Services Agreement
  • Ensure new employees are set up for success by completing Induction Checklists, New Starter IT Checklists and ensuring an Induction Program is in place in collaboration with the new starter’s manager
  • Lead the bi-annual staff engagement surveys (using the Culture Amp tool) including surveys for our MAs within the Shared Services Agreement, reporting and debriefing
  • Provide guidance to the HA Health & Wellbeing Committee (Vibe Squad) to deliver various Health & Wellbeing initiatives
  • In collaboration with the Vibe Squad, deliver activations to staff that educate and celebrate days of significance throughout the year
  • In collaboration with the Social Impact & Participation Coordinator, assist with the implementation of HA’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Coordination of the People, Culture & Sustainability Committee meetings including agenda and paper preparation, meeting coordination, attending meetings to take minutes and follow up of actions

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • A tertiary qualification in business, human resources management, sports administration or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a P&C Business Partnering or Recruitment role, preferably within the sports, major events, or a fast-paced industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR and employment relations processes spanning the end to end employment life cycle including award interpretation, legislation and governance
  • A thorough knowledge of best practice and trends in HR and people related risks within the sporting context
  • Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with staff members across all departments and our Member Associations
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
