About Us

Parklands Christian College is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the Facilities Management and Workplace Health and Safety function within the College. Parklands Christian College is a growing school located on 45 acres of land on the southern corridor from Brisbane to Beaudesert at Park Ridge, Logan, QLD. We are a Christian, co-educational school of nearing 1000 students (P-12), along with our Early Learning Centre and Outside School Hours Care facilities, and an established set of values that permeate everything to which we aspire. About the Role

Provide ongoing maintenance of school grounds and property in accordance with directive from Team Manager and OH & S policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Liaise with Maintenance Team Leader to coordinate grounds and facilities maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure safe work conditions
  • Regularly report the progress of the grounds and maintenance plans to the Team Leader
  • Maintain gardens, lawns including planting, fertilising, weeding, soil condition, mulching and applying pesticides as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Operate and maintain equipment as required and in accordance with WH&S requirements
  • Liaise with external contractors

About YOU

We are looking for:

  • Trade certification and/or significant experience in a similar role
  • Chemical Accreditation (AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
  • AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals) or willing to gain certification
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for paid employment.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
