Position: Facilities Technician
Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Facilities Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will become the face of our business: -

• Maintaining the presentation of our properties to a high standard
• Assisting our team by building and maintaining relationships with our clients
• Representing The George Group on a daily basis, delivering a high level of service to our clients

Specialising in groundskeeping, horticulture and general building maintenance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of our organization's outdoor and indoor spaces. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the landscaping, gardens, and exterior grounds while also assisting with various building and facilities maintenance tasks as needed.

The role will typically require you to work outdoors for a significant portion of the day, performing tasks such as garden, facilities and general property maintenance. In addition to this you will be responsible for responding to unplanned maintenance and call-outs to resolve any issues that arise from time to time. This role may require occasional evening or weekend work in emergency situations, especially during peak seasons or for special projects. Additionally, you must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and be able to lift heavy objects and operate groundskeeping equipment safely.

Responsibilities:

• Mow lawns, trim edges, and maintain landscape beds to ensure a neat and well-maintained appearance.
• Plant, water, and fertilize flowers, trees, and shrubs to enhance the beauty of outdoor spaces.
• Weed gardens, remove debris, and apply mulch to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
• Perform regular inspections of outdoor areas to identify and address issues such as irrigation leaks, drainage problems, or pest infestations.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.

• Care for ornamental gardens, including pruning, deadheading, and applying pesticides or herbicides as necessary.
• Monitor plant health and identify diseases or nutrient deficiencies, taking appropriate action to remedy any problems.
• Coordinate with landscaping contractors for specialized services such as tree trimming or pest control.
• Plan and implement seasonal planting and landscaping projects to enhance the overall appearance of the property.

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks inside buildings, such as changing light bulbs, painting, and minor repairs.
• Regularly inspect and help coordinate our cleaners with the maintenance of interior common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms, to maintain a clean and inviting environment for employees and visitors. Attend to items that need immediate attention outside of our planned cleaning regime.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from building occupants and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Perform basic HVAC filter changes, plumbing repairs, and electrical troubleshooting as needed.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for special events or meetings, including moving furniture and equipment.
• Interact with clients face-to-face to address their concerns and resolve issues effectively

Skills, Attributes,Qualifications:

• Well-presented
• qualified tradesman background or equivalent trade experience; certification or coursework in horticulture, landscaping, or groundskeeping.
• Fastidious attention to detail and enthusiasm for the job.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Experience with irrigation systems and water conservation techniques.
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to landscaping and building maintenance.
• Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices and environmentally friendly gardening methods.

Requirements: -

• 3-5 years prior experience working in a similar role and in a corporate or commercial setting.
• Your own utility vehicle for transportation. A company vehicle could be supplied for the right candidate
• Resides within a 30 minute commute from Brisbane CBD.

Package:

• Full-time position.
• Remuneration: $80,000 -$85,000 per annum.
• Additional Benefits: Superannuation, running costs of vehicle, and phone.
