The Queensland Government's Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) was established to meet the increasing demand for rail transport in South East Queensland over the next 10 years.
The QTMP will support South East Queensland's population and economic growth, as well as Cross River Rail and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Program will build 65 new six-car passenger trains at a purpose-built train manufacturing facility at Torbanlea, in the Fraser Coast region. As part of the program a new rail facility, for train maintenance and stabling, will also be constructed at Ormeau, in the Gold Coast region. In June 2023, Downer was awarded the contract to deliver QTMP.
The purpose of the Principal Advisor (Commercial) is to manage the implementation, administration, review and monitoring of the contractual matters for QTMP. Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Contribute to the implementation and ongoing management of QTMP specifically regarding contract management, quality and performance matters by implementing
and continually monitoring effective project controls.
• Manage the QTMP Commercial, Contracts and Operations processes and procedures to ensure effective Project Controls are applied leading to satisfactory
outcomes, while managing the expectations of key stakeholders and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Develop and present comprehensive, high-quality submissions and reports on complex contract management and program management issues and proposals.
• Perform duties as required to assist the Commercial and Contracts team for all matters related to Contracts, Performance and Operations to meet business obligations.
