The work area

This role sits within the Housing Supply Unit Directorate which is part of the Economic business unit. The Housing Supply Unit oversees the development of market-wide housing policy, including measures to boost housing supply, improve choice and affordability, and support the workforce needed to deliver the State’s economic and service delivery priorities. The Unit takes a lead rode in advising Government on the policy settings underpinning the housing market in Western Australia. It also leads consultation with the residential building industry and the property development sector.

The opportunity

Are you interested in making a difference for Western Australia, to deliver whole of government policy advice on the Western Australian housing market. We are looking for someone who is a critical thinker, have an awareness of the broader strategic and political context which will be applied to inform policy decisions and recommendations, excel in stakeholder relationship skills, and deliver key messages clearly and concisely. In this role, you will:

• Lead the development of papers and policy analysis to support the reform agenda of the Residential Lands and Housing Delivery Ministerial Oversight Committee and Steering Committee.
• Provide critical input to the continued progress of policy reform and delivery of initiatives for Government consistent with the Housing Supply Unit workplan and emerging priorities.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
