We are Calvary Christian College - situated in Townsville, we are a co-educational independent school providing excellence in Christian education to over 1,000 students from our Early Learning Centre through to Year 12.

The Opportunity
We have an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate and experienced Head of Learning Enrichment to join our Team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The role of the Head of Learning Enrichment is to coordinate and manage the Learning Enrichment – K-12 Team, ensuring an effective, safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all students with learning difficulties and special needs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students with English as an additional language or dialect (EALD).
Core duties include (but are not limited to):
- Understand the philosophy of Christian Education and translate it into practice.
- Support and contribute to the growth of a strong Christian faith community through personal example and professional leadership.
- Plan and monitor a diverse and flexible curriculum that is underpinned by national and state curriculum directives and supported by creative, responsive approaches to teaching and learning together with an effective learning environment that aims to optimise student learning for a range of learners – including those who benefit from both remediation and extension.
- Support the pedagogical development of staff and assist them to select from a flexible and effective repertoire of teaching strategies to suit the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students.
- Enhance an effective culture of professional learning in the area of teaching and learning that is in alignment with the College’s teaching and learning framework and goals, ensuring the vision and strategic plan for teaching and learning within the Learning Enrichment Department has a focus on the improvement of student learning outcomes and that its goals and intentions are aligned with whole school strategic focus.
- Promote and value the Learning Enrichment Department and College as a rich and effective learning community within the College and in the broader community, including the promotion of academic opportunities through a variety of enrichment experiences.
- Provide leadership of teaching staff across K-12 with particular responsibility for compliance with disability legislation and implementation of the Disability Standards for Education 2005, leading the implementation of the NCCD process.

Remuneration and Benefits
As the Head of Learning Enrichment (K-12) at Calvary Christian College, you will receive an above-Award salary between $88,000 and $117,000 p.a pending experience, plus a generous Leadership Allowance of $9,500.00 p.a in addition to a range of great benefits, including:

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a current Queensland Teachers Registration or the ability to obtain one with the appropriate qualifications.
As the Head of Learning Enrichment (K-12) at Calvary Christian College, you will have experience which demonstrates excellent, current classroom teaching techniques and practices that meet diverse needs and learning styles of students and are consistent with relevant curriculum and policies, and relevant experience in learning enrichment.
You will have:
- 5+ years (preferred) experience as a Classroom Teacher with demonstrated relevant experience in learning enrichment.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Ability to create a culture of learning and achievement through effective planning, student management, classroom resource organisation and engaging learning strategies.
- Exemplary professional manner, interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Enthusiastic desire and resolute commitment to actively contribute to the culture and values of the College.
- Proficient level of computer literacy with proven capacity in MS Office Suite, and other software/programs in common use for education.
