The Middleton Tavern has embarked on an exciting transformation and we are looking for a talented and creative Head Chef to join and lead our team. This full-time salaried position is perfect for someone who loves perfecting pub classics and experimenting with fresh, seasonal specials.

As we undergo an extensive redevelopment of our dining and bar facilities, we welcome your creative input in developing the business model.

We are looking for an experienced person with love for the industry. A leader and mentor to our kitchen team, with purpose to provide and deliver a premium food offering and outstanding service to our customers.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities required but not limited to;

• Leads by example with a ‘hands on’ approach
• Controlling and directing food preparation, overseeing the entire food preparation process and related activities.
• Ensure efficient kitchen operations and high-quality dishes
• Menu and operational planning, offering regular updates to keep patrons interested
• Stock management and control
• Staff management and training
• Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork
• Health and safety regulations
• Ensure compliance of internal policies and procedures

Knowledge and experience required include;

• Trade qualified
• Minimum two years as a Sous or Head Chef in a high-paced, high-quality kitchen.
• Modern, innovative culinary skills, strong knowledge of food trends, cost control, and presentation.
• Experience in scheduling, managing, mentoring, and training staff.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Remuneration will be negotiated depending on the experience of the successful applicant.
