Located in the greater Hobart or Launceston area, this is an exciting opportunity to expand MBT's commercial division and position High Risk Work Solutions as the leading high risk training provider in Tasmania.
Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the key portfolio areas of HRWS training and the wider MBT suite of products and services. This role involves managing a portfolio of assigned clients, developing new business from existing clients, actively seeking new sales opportunities and working collaboratively with other MBT teams to promote MBT's membership and service range.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, partners, executive sponsors and industry stakeholders and ensure the timely and successful delivery of training according to customer needs and objectives
- Drive enrolment in training programs by showcasing their relevance, quality and alignment with industry standards
- Develop customised solutions to meet client needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and negotiate contracts and close agreement to maximise the profitability of each allocated client
- identify opportunities to cross promote additional services to existing members and clients and engage with potential members, emphasising the value and benefits of engaging with the MBT group
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, sales and product/service development to align business development efforts
- Actively participate in industry events, trade shows and forums to promote HRWS, MBT and their products and services
The successful applicant will
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and networking skills and the ability to build strong, productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Exhibit a proactive, flexible and solutions focused approach and possess the capacity to listen and respond to the views of others
- Be adaptable and organised and be able to manage multiple priorities effectively with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members
- Display a commitment to quality in the Vocational Education & Training (VET) sector
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, sound computer literacy and competency across the Microsoft suite of products.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a National Policy Check and pre-employment medical as pre-requisites to their engagement and maintain Working With Vulnerable People registration and drivers' license as part of their ongoing employment.
Remuneration package and key performance indicators will be negotiated with the successful applicant taking into consideration relevant industry experience and skill, together with their proven business development success.
