Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Desk Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking concepts and protocols, hands-on experience with networking hardware, and a passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving. This role involves liaising with customers and resolving WiFi/Internet related issues, and providing internal support for network projects and upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues related to ISP and Public WiFi networks.
- Provide technical support and guidance, resolving network related issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers to resolve technical faults and coordinate service improvements.
- Participate in network projects, providing technical support for our internal field engineers.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Assist with maintenance of the ISP core network in data center environments.
Requirements
- Sound understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN.
- Hands-on, real world experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, modems, and WiFi access points.
- Experience with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Ruckus, Aruba, Cisco highly desirable
- Previous experience in an IT/Support role (3+ years recommended)
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies and skills quickly.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned tasks.
- Work efficiently unsupervised, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
