About the Roles:

We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in two capacities:

1. Leading Hand (Full-time):

Do you have a passion for horticulture and a knack for leading others? We're searching for an experienced Gardener to head our garden maintenance team and take charge of prestigious projects in the Sydney area. In this hands-on role, you'll combine your horticultural expertise with your leadership skills to mentor a small team and ensure the highest standards of garden cleaning care for our discerning clientele. This full-time position offers a consistent schedule of 7 am to 3 pm, 5 days a week, with the possibility of overtime.

2. Gardener/Cleaner (Part-time):

We are also seeking a motivated and physically active Gardener/Cleaner to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a keen interest in gardening, and take pride in creating beautiful spaces. In this role, you will contribute to enhancing the visual appeal of our clients’ properties while maintaining the cleanliness and order of their indoor and outdoor areas. This part-time position offers approximately 3-5 days of work per week, with the schedule varying depending on the season and workload. Part-time guaranteed hours (Full time in summer).

Key Responsibilities:

Leading Hand:

Lead, inspire, and manage a small team of gardeners.

Oversee and carry out all aspects of both soft and hard landscaping at times.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently.

Assist with leading a team of maintenance staff and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

Follow schedules and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of garden maintenance activities, including planting, hedging, weeding, pruning, and fertilising.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the team to enhance their horticultural skills and safety practices.

Regularly inspect garden areas to assess their condition, identify improvements needed, and implement corrective actions.

This role is 80% gardening (outdoors), 20% cleaning, plus driving to multiple sites and continuous work across the 8 hrs per day, 5 days per week. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the move, appreciates Sydney's scenery, and loves working in the fresh air!

Gardener/Cleaner:

Cleaning:

Meticulously clean and maintain common areas such as hallways, pathways, outdoor furniture, and entryways.

Ensure all outdoor spaces are free of litter and debris.

Perform general cleaning and sanitising of stairwells and common property, including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning glass surfaces, dusting, and wiping down windowsills.

Gardening:

Maintain and enhance outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, and landscaped spaces.

Skilfully operate and maintain gardening equipment such as lawn mowers, edgers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.

Carry out planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and watering activities to ensure healthy and vibrant gardens.

Monitor plant health, identify pests or diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.

Ensure outdoor areas are tidy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.

Basic gardening and lawn care (lawn mowing, edging, blowing, hedging) with some general cleaning and sanitising of stairwells and common property.

This role is 60% gardening (outdoors), 40% cleaning, continuous work across the 8 hrs per day, 3-5 days per week (seasonal)

Travel:

Travel between various locations to service multiple sites across Sydney from East Kurrajong.

Specific Requirements:

Leading Hand:

Must be able to get to the depot at East Kurrajong for travel into Ryde and Parramatta council areas.

Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.

Plus the below requirements;

Gardener/Cleaner:

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work in a team unsupervised

Speak English

Be presentable to work in public

Punctual, reliable and trustworthy

Physically fit to carry vacuum back packs up and down multiple stairwells per day and push lawn mowers

Australian citizen or permanent resident

Qualifications:

Leading Hand:

Proven experience or qualifications in Horticulture, gardening or landscaping.

Driver’s License (necessary)

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

A strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Plus the below;

Gardener/Cleaner:

Full working rights in Australia.

A valid Australian driver’s license (company transport will be provided).

Physical fitness and a genuine enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Experience or a strong interest in gardening, including knowledge of plants, tools, and equipment.

A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong commitment to cleanliness.

Self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
