Accountant Needed for a Manufacturing Company in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs

Due to continued ongoing success, they are going through a period of growth and expansion and are looking to expand their finance function with an experienced Financial Accountant.
***Please note that this role is fully in office in the northern suburbs of Melbourne (no WFH)***
Your new role
As the Financial Accountant, you'll be a pivotal part of the business. Reporting to the Financial Controller you'll play a key role to ensure the financial well-being of this organisation. You'll have a small team of transactional accounting staff reporting to you. Your main duties will be reporting, compliance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax and audits, but you may get involved in other accounting duties as needed by the company.
Tasks involved:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making
- Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Making and dealing with foreign payments
What you'll need to succeed
Technical capability at a high level is essential, combined with communication and people management skills:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CA qualification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience within Manufacturing is highly sought
- Experience working with an international organisation is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel must be intermediate to advanced)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
