Salary: AUD 70,000- AUD 75,000 per annum

Full Time Position; Approximately 38 hours per week.

Acqua Restaurant And Bar is currently seeking a skilled Chef to join its dynamic team at Caloundra, Sunshine Coast QLD. The ideal candidate will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centred around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• Select and train staff
• Freeze and preserve foods

Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of one or more years of culinary experience in preparing dishes in a commercial setting.
• Certificate IV in Kitchen Management/ Commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.
• Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.
• Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality dishes.
• Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
