Roper Gulf Regional Council is located in the southeast of the top end of the Northern Territory bounded by the southern Kakadu escarpments, the northern Barkly Tablelands, the Gulf of Carpentaria, and the Queensland border. The Councils area spans 201,000 square kilometres – almost three times the size of Tasmania – making Council’s operational footprint one of the largest in the Northern Territory.

Roper Gulf Regional Council is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as Aged Care and Disability Manager. The Aged Care & Disability Manager, reporting to the Program Manager, is a key member of the Council’s Community Services and Engagement team. This role ensures that service delivery and operational activities align with the strategic direction and uphold the Council’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities include providing leadership and operational management for all Community Services programs, including Aged Care and Disability Services, to ensure contractual compliance and quality outcomes for stakeholders. The manager oversees the day-to-day operations of these programs across the region, managing workforce levels, resources, budgeting, and other operational support.

Additionally, they collaborate closely with operational managers to lead Council staff, volunteers, and service partners in delivering a comprehensive range of services to community-based clients, ensuring exceptional customer service

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications coupled with extensive knowledge and a high level of skill relevant to the role.
• Three (3) years practical experience in a relevant management role and/or employment service.
• Demonstrated experience in leading community based multi-disciplinary service teams.
• Demonstrated experience in successful management of multi-million-dollar contracts or projects.
• Ability to create strong regional networks of internal and external stakeholders to achieve Council’s operational and strategic goals.
• Experience in effective communication, including consultation, mediation and negotiation techniques with the ability to create and lead an environment where problem solving of conflicts between any parties is effectively resolved.
• Demonstrated ability to write complex non-standard correspondence, reports, submissions and proposals that require original content.

Remuneration Package Includes:

• Competitive salary range of $110,264.53 to $121,366.53 per annum plus superannuation
