About the role
We're on the lookout for a vibrant and customer service focused professional who has a passion for community, a love of swimming and dedicated to the education of water safety, to join our team and fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the Swim School Supervisor at Swan Active Beechboro.
Reporting to the Leisure Centre Coordinator, the Swim School Supervisor will be instrumental in Swan Active’s development and growth of our Learn to Swim program and active involvement of community initiatives all while delivering an exceptional front line delivery service to customers of all ages and abilities who require information and/or access to the Centre.
In addition, the position requires a positive, energetic and innovative leader that is passionate about community health and wellbeing, water safety, active participation and committed to continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
- Coordinate all swim school operations including leading and coordinating the swim school team, recruitment, training, rostering and staff supervision
- Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing learn to swim and other water education programs to improve aquatic survival and swimming skills and meet the needs of a diverse and growing community
- Foster effective and genuine relationships with customers by helping people to connect with one another.
- Provide effective leadership to a large team and customer base
- Create the tone and personality of the Swim School area by being an advocate of training, customer service, swim school knowledge and education.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification, Certificate IV in Leisure Science (Leisure, Sport or Recreation Management), Business Management or similar industry experience
- Current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate and Industry compliance.
- Previous experience in supervising and coordinating swim school staff, activities and operations
- Extensive experience in development and implementation of swim school operations and programs
- Knowledge in daily operations and compliance requirements for swim school operations, programs and services
- Sound understanding and proven ability to provide high quality customer service
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
- Current senior first aid certificate
- Compliance with the requirements of the Working with Children Act 2004
- Current ‘C’ class drivers licence

The salary for this position will be from $81,628.92 to $96,391.46 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
