Steel Window Design is Australia's leading manufacturer of steel windows and doors. We work across both the residential and commercial sector, Australia wide. You will be based at our architecturally designed factory, showroom and office space in Preston.

Key elements of the role include:

• Responsibility for completing all client shop drawings and gaining sign-off from clients so the project is ready for fabrication.
• A friendly manner and good communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be dealing directly with clients, and consulting on the best and most efficient designs for their project.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, and training will be provided to bring you up to speed with steel windows, our manufacturing methods and design capabilities.
• Scheduling projects, including managing when each member of our fabrication team will start and finish a job
• Your key touchpoints in the business will be the sales team, our steel fabricators to clarify drawings, and the operations team who manage the installation and glazing of projects on site.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the design and construction phases
• Collaborating with the team to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience in a similar Draftsperson role
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD software to produce technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and translate design concepts into drawings
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset to contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes
