We are looking for an experienced Workshop Technician who is passionate about maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, heavy vehicles, and electric vehicles (EVs). What You'll Be Doing

As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring commercial vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standards while meeting workshop productivity and quality targets.

Your key responsibilities include:

Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, repairs, and overhaul of heavy vehicles, commercial vehicles, and electric vehicles (EVs).

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment and specialised testing tools.

Perform major repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, driveline components, and other vehicle systems.

Diagnose, repair, and resolve electrical and electronic faults on commercial vehicles and EVs.

Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and technical service manuals to identify faults and perform repairs accurately.

Carry out ECU (Electronic Control Unit) diagnostics, programming, coding, remapping, software updates, and component-level repairs where applicable.

Troubleshoot CAN Bus communication issues, sensors, actuators, controllers, and other electronic vehicle systems.

Understand the operation and functionality of vehicle electrical and electronic components to accurately diagnose system failures.

Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI), scheduled servicing, and quality inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Perform functional testing and road testing (where authorised) to verify repairs and ensure vehicles are operating safely before release.

Complete work orders, inspection reports, repair documentation, and service records accurately and promptly.

Report unusual findings, major repair requirements, or additional replacement parts recommendations to the Team Leader for approval.

Ensure all assigned jobs are completed within the required turnaround time while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Maintain workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and workstations in good working condition.

Observe all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.

Participate in technical training to keep up with evolving commercial vehicle and EV technologies.

Perform any other workshop-related duties assigned by the Team Leader or Workshop Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

NTC 2, NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Automotive Technology, Heavy Vehicle Technology, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the automotive repair and servicing industry, preferably involving commercial or heavy vehicles.

Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams.

Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on commercial vehicles.

Hands-on experience with ECU diagnostics, programming, coding, remapping, and component-level repair is highly preferred.

Proficient in using automotive diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and technical issues.

Good understanding of the functions and operation of electrical and electronic vehicle components.

Experience with electric vehicle (EV) servicing and high-voltage systems will be an added advantage.

Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Responsible, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering quality workmanship.

Class 3 and/or Class 4 Driving Licence is preferred.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Alternate Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
