The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on a broiler farm/free range chicken farm. The position will be required to take care of the general welfare of the chickens, in compliance with the Processors Guidelines. They will be responsible for the daily running of the site, including general maintenance and upkeep, to ensure the farm is well kept and compliant.

Duties include, but not limited to:

Daily on -farm chicken rearing and welfare

Monitor and adjust temperatures in bird environment to ensure comfort of animal

Record and process: bird weights, daily Mortalities, feed levels and gas levels

Set up sheds for placements and participate in bird pickups.

Familiarise yourself with Processor, RSPCA and FREPA policies and procedures and follow/meet all requirements

Follow strict Biosecurity and bird welfare procedures

liaising with service person and regular Auditiors

Operate and maintain Machinery, including tractor and rotary hoe.

General assistance around the farm

Quickly and efficiently respond to and repair potential emergency work, such as broken pipes, pumps, cables, feeders etc.

May need to undergo certificate training, if required

Must live either on-site or within close vicinity to the farm

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year plus super, plus accommodation.

Plus potential to earn performance bonuses.
