Key Responsibilities

Analyse business and technical requirements to design practical software solutions.

Design, develop, test and maintain enterprise software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.

Develop responsive web applications and business systems using modern software development technologies.

Design and implement backend services, APIs and database structures to support business applications.

Integrate software applications with third-party systems, cloud platforms and external services.

Participate in software architecture design and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

Perform software testing, debugging and performance optimisation to ensure reliability and scalability.

Prepare technical documentation and maintain software development standards.

Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, UI/UX designers and other developers to deliver software projects on time.

Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancement and technical support for deployed applications.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should possess:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.

Minimum 3 years' commercial experience in software development.

Demonstrated experience throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming and software design patterns.

Experience in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.

Experience developing web-based business applications using frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.js.

Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

Experience working with relational databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Experience using Git and collaborative software development practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins)

Docker or container technologies

GraphQL

Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
