The company you'll be joining and the role you'll be carrying out:
A well respected and ethical residential builder who have grown steadily since 2021 are strategically looking to appoint an experienced Senior Residential Draftsperson to play a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and compliance of construction documentation before it reaches site.
Specialising in the 2nd and 3rd home builder space, you'll be working closely with an offshore drafting team, acting as the final technical review point, checking working drawings, identifying discrepancies and ensuring documentation aligns with company standards, R-Codes, NCC requirements and construction best practice.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced residential Draftsperson, Senior Draftsperson or Documentation Specialist who enjoys the technical side of drafting and takes pride in producing accurate, buildable plans.
Approximately 75% of your time will be focused on reviewing and checking residential working drawings produced by an offshore drafting team, with the remaining portion involving sketch design work, plan amendments and technical support.
Responsibilities:
Review and check residential working drawings for accuracy, compliance and constructability
Ensure documentation complies with current R-Codes, NCC and relevant WA building regulations
Identify and resolve drafting errors, inconsistencies and omissions before issue
Provide clear feedback and mark-ups to offshore drafting teams
Review consultant information including engineering, energy assessments and site information
Prepare and amend sketch plans when required
Support internal teams with technical drawing and design queries
Assist in developing drafting standards, checking procedures and quality control processes
Liaise with designers, estimators, prestart and construction teams to ensure documentation accuracy
What they're looking for:
Extensive experience producing and reviewing residential construction documentation in WA
Strong understanding of R-Codes, NCC and local authority requirements
ArchiCAD proficiency
Ability to identify compliance issues and construction detailing errors quickly
Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and buildability
High level of attention to detail and quality control
Experience working with offshore drafting teams highly regarded
Excellent communication skills and ability to provide constructive technical feedback
