There is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Northern Territory's thriving tropical plant industries sector. Working as part of a Territory-wide Research, Development and Extension (RD&E) team, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills while contributing to the advancement and support of this important and growing economic sector.

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is seeking to recruit a Senior Technical Officer based at Katherine Research Station to assist with research and industry engagement to support the rapid development of cropping sector in all regions of the Northern Territory in line with the commitments of the Northern Territory Government. You must have proven knowledge of experimental procedures and application of scientific rigour to research in a range of plant industries to support agricultural RD&E efforts.

The successful applicant will be based at Katherine Research Station of the Northern Territory. This position will involve regular travel by road to rural properties, therefore, the successful applicant will need to have a current driver’s licence to drive a manual vehicle to the equivalent of a Northern Territory C class licence.
