An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established Australian manufacturer. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing factory operations, driving safety, quality and productivity outcomes, and ensuring customer delivery requirements are consistently achieved.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a manufacturing professional who enjoys working closely with production teams, optimising processes, and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Your new role

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of manufacturing operations including production planning, workforce leadership, safety compliance, customer liaison, quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will lead a team of supervisors and production employees while working collaboratively across operations, maintenance, quality, sales and administration functions to ensure production targets are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality and delivery targets
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS and environmental requirements
  • Manage labour utilisation, production scheduling and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate production plans to meet customer demand and delivery expectations
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and implement improvements to productivity and quality
  • Support workforce development through training, coaching and performance management
  • Liaise with customers regarding production schedules, technical requirements and delivery timelines
  • Manage operational costs, overtime and budget performance
  • Oversee quality systems, non-conformance management and corrective actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality and manufacturing processes

    About You

    To be successful, you will bring:
  • Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Senior Operations leadership role
  • Strong people leadership and supervisory capabilities within a manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of WHS, quality and environmental compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to optimise plant performance, manufacturing processes and labour productivity
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing costs, productivity and customer expectations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing planning systems

    Highly Regarded
  • Background in engineering, mechanical trades or heavy manufacturing
  • Experience within steel processing, forging, fabrication or industrial manufacturing environments
  • First Aid qualifications
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experience with quoting, tendering and customer relationship management
