Job Summary

The job holder focuses on supporting the manager and HOD to contribute positively to the culture of evidence based and data-driven planning in MENDAKI and driving thought-leadership in understanding challenges faced by the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore.

The incumbent is expected to work between 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends and public holidays to support organisation events.

Key Responsibility Areas

Research Design & Implementation

a. Conduct literature search, environmental scanning, and trend analysis in MENDAKI’s 4 focus areas of Confident Learners, Stronger Families, Future Ready Workforce and Thriving Community.

b. Contribute to the establishing of partnership with research agencies, academicians and experts, both at Malay/Muslim Voluntary Sector as well as national level.

c. Identify future areas of interests in the context of the Malay/Muslim Community interests and aligned with national policies and goals.

d. Conduct and coordinate research projects and report findings to MENDAKI teams for programme development and refinements.

e. Lead the development and conceptualization of themes for articles, annual publications, and MENDAKI Symposium.

Knowledge Management & Evaluation Guidance

a. Assist the manager to be the Single-Source-Of-Truth in MENDAKI covering public and internal statistics.

b. Taking an evidence and data-driven approach in advising programme owners and other internal teams on decision making.

c. Provide training and guidance in programme evaluation to programme owners, using the RE-AIM framework.

d. Support RPE Analytics and Evaluation team to deliver comprehensive programme evaluations, including identifying gaps and recommend next steps.

Stakeholder Engagement (Internal and External)

a. Lead engagements and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders such as ministries, national agencies, and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).

b. Manage data partnerships between ministries and national agencies.

c. Advocate research findings at appropriate platforms such as conferences, ministries, and national agencies, Malay/Muslim organisations and social service organisations.

Requirements

a. 2 - 3 years of relevant professional experience in Applied Social research or Market research is preferred

b. Degree in Psychology / Behavioural Sciences / Statistics / Analytics / Social Sciences, or any related discipline from a recognised institution

c. Knowledge of research methodologies.

d. Possesses an analytical mind with a strong ability to make sense of large amounts of data and able to think strategically and translate strategies to operational and tangible results.

e. Effective communication and report writing skills.

f. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

g. Strong research experience/track record will be a plus.

h. Proactive, willing to learn and able to work on several projects and tasks concurrently.

i. Ensure compliance to project timeline, milestones, and budget.

j. Resourceful, and able to work independently and effectively with colleagues to achieve team goals.

k. Organised with good communication and interpersonal skills.
