As we have secured contracts to work on new development projects such as On-demand Module, BDM, 5D1/5D2 and N2P, we are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineering Technologist to strengthen our team in Melbourne's western suburbs.
About the role
As a Telecommunications Engineering Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, designing, testing and the overall coordination of telecommunications network infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable data communication for our clients.
Key responsibilities
Demonstrate a strong understanding of telecommunications engineering principles, technologies, standards and industry practices to ensure effective project planning, design and delivery.
Design, develop and evaluate new and existing technologies and telecommunications infrastructure solutions involving fibre optic, copper, wireless and civil network systems to meet client and project requirements.
Conduct technical analysis and engineering assessments to support the planning, construction, improvement, and optimisation of telecommunications networks and infrastructure.
Develop and design test procedures and implementation plan for telecommunications and ICT projects in accordance with relevant standards and operational requirements.
Select and utilise appropriate equipment, materials, technologies and resources to ensure efficient project delivery, network reliability and compliance with quality requirements.
Analyse network performance, investigate technical issues and develop practical and sustainable solutions to improve efficiency, reliability and service outcomes.
Research new telecommunications technologies and industry practices, and support improvements to systems, processes and ICT project delivery.
Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to provide technical advice and ensure successful project outcomes.
Collaborate with internal team members to deliver telecommunications projects that meet business, operational and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Telecommunications or Engineering Science or Electronics desirable
At least 2 years' work experience within the industry
Experience with NBN Fixed Wireless and Enterprise Ethernet is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in site surveys and completing handover documentation on site
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess network requirements and implement effective solutions.
Experience in fault finding
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and technical support.
