The Great Escape has officially opened in Melbourne CBD, bringing together escape rooms, mini golf, a full bar and a kitchen in one epic entertainment venue.

We have now been operating for a month, the venue is growing quickly and we are looking for a few more exceptional people to join our team.

This is not a quiet restaurant or a standard pub. Our guests visit us for birthdays, corporate events, date nights, hens nights, team building, cocktails, food, mini golf and escape rooms.

Every shift is different. The venue is energetic, social and fast paced, particularly during evenings and weekends.

We are hiring Bar Staff and Kitchen Staff across full-time, part-time, and casual positions. You can apply for the bar, the kitchen or both if you are interested in being cross-trained.

About the venue

Our food offering is simple, fun and designed for busy service. The focus is on producing quality entertainment style food quickly and consistently, even when the venue is full.

Our bar serves cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and group packages for guests playing mini golf, completing escape rooms or attending events.

The bar, kitchen, reception and entertainment teams work closely together to create a smooth and memorable experience for every guest.

Bar Staff

As part of the bar team, you will:

Serve drinks to mini golf, escape room and event guests

Make cocktails, mixed drinks and other bar menu items

Pour beer, wine and spirits accurately and responsibly

Manage bar tabs, group packages and event orders

Keep the bar clean, stocked and organised throughout service

Communicate clearly with the kitchen, floor team and managers

Follow RSA requirements and help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment

An RSA is required for all bar staff.

Cocktail experience is highly regarded, although we are happy to train the right person. Experience with beer, wine, spirits, POS systems, functions or busy service environments will also be valuable.

Kitchen Staff

As part of the kitchen team, you will:

Cook during service using fryers, grills, ovens and preparation equipment

Prepare simple, high volume food quickly and consistently

Complete preparation, portioning and station setup before service

Plate food neatly and maintain consistent quality

Follow food safety requirements for temperatures, storage, rotation and sanitising

Keep your section clean and organised throughout service

Complete cleaning and close procedures properly

Communicate clearly with the bar, floor team and kitchen lead during busy periods

Previous kitchen experience is required for cook positions.

Food handler training, food safety knowledge and Food Safety Supervisor certification are highly regarded, although Food Safety Supervisor certification is not required for every kitchen position.

Previous experience in bars, kitchens, cafes, pubs, restaurants, events, entertainment venues or other busy hospitality environments will be highly regarded.

You do not need to know everything already, but you do need to care about doing things properly, learning quickly and supporting the team around you.
