PO4 Senior Environmental Officer

  • Up to $84.56 per hour plus superannuation
  • Nerang location
  • Initial 1 year contract term

Randstad is proud to partner with a key State Government client to recruit a Senior Environmental Officer. The project team responsible for completing the design, environmental referral, site investigations and review to support the delivery of the major local project.

The Role:

As part of the project team, you will provide high-level strategic and technical environmental guidance to ensure infrastructure sustainability is at the core of the project's delivery.

  • Deliver high level advice on the statutory obligations of all relevant environmental legislation including requirements of the EPBC Act.
  • Assist with the delivery of federal and state environmental approvals and offsets as necessary.
  • Provide specialist environmental advice regarding implementation of environmental assessments, legislation, compliance and management during all phases of the program of works.
  • This will include the review of project design, environmental surveys, spatial data, Public Environment Report (PER) and the review of contract specifications, condition packages, audits and briefs.
  • Identify possible environmental constraints and negotiate modifications to design.
  • Provide guidance on the scope and direction of project activities as well as being a key advisor to project management teams with regards to environmental issues and risks to project delivery.
  • Coordinate and project manage environmental offsets and project land including working with multiple internal and external teams.
  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal staff, State and Local Government agencies and industry.
  • Provide high-level written and oral advice on project related matters relating to the safety and efficiency of the state transport corridors in accordance with legislated timeframes.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Natural Resource Management.
  • C Class Drivers Licence
