More About Us:

Central Desert Regional Council is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. The Council provides a range of services in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. There are also several homelands and outstations. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population is Aboriginal people.

The Role:

The Team Leader, Youth and Community Safety is responsible for Youth, Sports & Recreation (YSR) and Community Safety Patrol programs (CSP) in community in accordance with Central Desert Regional Council strategic and regional plans, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

Generous base salary (Level 5 : Base Salary: $78,178.32 / Package $89,327.50)

Additional 15% loading applies to the above salary due to the Tuesday-Saturday roster.

6 weeks’ Annual Leave accrued per year;

Upto 12 public holiday days per year;

1 additional holiday for NAIDOC day;

3 additional days between Xmas and NY;

15 days Personal Leave accrued per year,

12% superannuation

Fixed-term contract in line with program funding

Remote allowance of $3,500 per annum;

Remote allowance tax deduction

Subsided accommodation from $40.00 per week plus utilities.

Flexibility to live your life;

Full-Time, Fixed-Term role with an end date of 30th November 2028 (extension subject to government funding).
