Project Manager

Location: Melbourne (CBD), Brisbane (CBD), or remote within Australia (all require full working rights in Australia)

Voconiq is seeking a highly organised, systems-oriented Project Manager to own and drive the delivery of Local Voices and Citizen Voices projects, across Australia and internationally. Our work is grounded in established social research methodologies and proven approaches to measuring community perspectives. Your focus will be on delivering projects, managing customer relationships, interpreting findings and helping customers translate insights into meaningful action.

This is a hands-on project delivery role operating at the intersection of customer coordination, survey delivery, reporting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of internal workflows and processes. You will own delivery across multiple projects, ensuring they are organised, visible, high-quality and delivered to agreed timelines, while also driving clearer and more repeatable ways of working.

Beyond project delivery, you will play an important customer-facing role, helping organisations understand community perspectives and translate findings into meaningful actions. You do not need to be a researcher or statistician, but you should be comfortable working with data, survey results and analytical outputs. Successful candidates will enjoy understanding what the data is telling us, helping shape customer reports and ensuring insights are communicated clearly and accurately.

We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing clarity, structure and momentum to busy environments. You will be the kind of person who drives timelines, actions, decisions and risks to resolution across customers, internal teams and delivery partners, while also spotting opportunities to improve how the work gets done.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, process-minded, and thrives when there is meaningful work to organise and improve. The insights generated through these projects help organisations make better decisions, strengthen relationships with communities and improve social outcomes.

What a day in this role might look like

The work is diverse, but your focus will consistently be on delivering outcomes across your portfolio, ensuring customers receive what was promised, and holding internal delivery work to clear accountabilities.

A typical day could include:

Owning end-to-end project delivery - setting and driving timelines, communications, actions and decisions to ensure high-quality projects land on time, in scope.

Maintaining accurate project plans, Jira tickets, meeting actions and status updates so project progress, ownership and next steps are clear to the people who need them.

Building trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, acting as a proactive and reliable partner who understands their objectives and helps ensure project outcomes deliver value.

Leading project meetings and check-ins with customers, internal teams, survey panel providers and delivery partners - driving decisions, supporting their understanding of the project, tracking actions, resolving blockers and keeping work progressing.

Coordinating survey-related delivery activities, including survey setup, testing, communications, distribution processes and launch readiness in collaboration with our Research and Data Science teams, plus our delivery partners.

Reviewing survey results, dashboards and analytical outputs to identify key findings, emerging themes and potential customer implications.

Coordinating the preparation, review, quality assurance and on-time delivery of customer reports, presentations and other project outputs and supporting delivery materials.

Supporting the delivery of customer briefings and workshops by helping communicate results, recommendations and opportunities for action.

Building and embedding clearer, more standardised delivery workflows — templates, checklists, handovers and documentation — that stick and scale as the team grows.

Using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365 and our reporting tools to strengthen delivery visibility, workflow management, coordination and follow-through.

To thrive in this role, you enjoy...

Creating structure, clarity and repeatability in project environments.

Keeping multiple projects, stakeholders, actions and timelines organised and moving.

Working in systems-oriented environments where tools, workflows and documentation matter, but might not yet be developed or fully deployed (that’s where you can help!).

Being proactive, asking good questions, following through and making sure the details do not fall through the cracks.

Balancing customer needs with sustainable, in-scope and scalable ways of working.

Building trusted relationships with customers, partners and internal teams.

Communicating clearly and confidently, including knowing when to clarify, escalate, push back or check before committing.

Turning complex information and data into clear messages, insights and recommendations for different audiences.

Understanding the story behind the data and helping customers make sense of research findings.

Working across teams and functions to solve problems and improve outcomes.

Identifying and acting on risks, blockers, and scope changes early and helping turn ambiguity into clear next steps.

Operating comfortably in an evolving scale-up environment where systems and processes are actively maturing.

An ideal candidate will bring...

Around 3+ years of experience managing projects within a research, insights, consulting, community engagement, market research or related professional services environment.

Confidence facilitating meetings, workshops or presentations with customers and other stakeholders.

Strong capability managing multiple projects, stakeholders, timelines and competing priorities.

Excellent organisational and project delivery skills, with strong attention to detail and a track record of following through to outcomes.

A practical, systems-oriented approach to project delivery, including the ability to use tools and workflows to create visibility, accountability and momentum.

Experience with and confidence using modern delivery and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365 and reporting tools, and agile-style delivery approaches, or a demonstrated ability to learn them quickly.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to build trust quickly with customers, delivery partners and cross-functional internal teams.

Strong analytical thinking, including the ability to interpret survey results, identify patterns and trends, and understand the practical implications of research findings for customers.

Experience contributing to reports, presentations, workshops or briefings that communicate research findings and recommendations to customers.

Sound judgement in identifying risks, blockers, scope changes and escalation points.

Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, project communications, and customer-facing materials.

A continuous improvement mindset, with experience contributing to better ways of working, for example creating new templates, processes, workflows, documentation or scalable delivery practices.

Full Australian work rights (unfortunately we cannot sponsor Visas)

Additional experience that would be highly valued includes...

Experience working with survey panel providers or research operations.

Exposure to the agriculture sector, resource/mining sector, or experience working in infrastructure, government, community engagement or other complex stakeholder environments.

Experience coordinating distributed teams, external suppliers, delivery partners or customers across different locations or time zones.
