Logistics Specialist | A.J. Bush & Sons (Bush's Proteins) - Bromelton, QLD

A.J. Bush & Sons is one of Australia's leading protein and rendering businesses, and is seeking a hands-on Logistics Specialist to coordinate and optimise transport and logistics across its Beaudesert operation - keeping raw materials, fleet and contractors moving safely, compliantly and efficiently.

About the role
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist is the engine room of the transport function: planning and coordinating logistics, managing driver and contractor performance, maintaining compliance under Chain of Responsibility and NHVR, and driving cost and efficiency improvements across the fleet. It is a varied, fast-paced role that will suit someone organised, practical and safety-focused.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and optimise plant logistics and transport to keep raw materials, contractors and fleet moving in line with production needs
  • Manage driver and contractor relationships, performance and compliance
  • Maintain Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR, WHS, biosecurity and environmental compliance (using MaintainX)
  • Conduct collection point compliance reviews and monitor raw material quality, hygiene and contamination risks
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance — servicing, repairs, inspections, registrations, defects and scheduling
  • Analyse transport, fleet and cost data (utilisation, downtime, fuel, delivery performance) and report on improvements
  • Champion a positive safety culture and continuous improvement

The successful candidate will bring

  • Experience coordinating transport, logistics, scheduling or supply chain operations
  • A sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR compliance
  • The ability to juggle multiple deliveries, schedules, contractors and competing priorities under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills, and be comfortable working with transport data and reporting
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with drivers, contractors and suppliers
  • A current C-class driver's licence (Forklift LF and First Aid/CPR desirable)
  • Exposure to manufacturing, rendering, agriculture or industrial environments, and weighbridge or collection point experience, which will be highly regarded

On offer

  • A secure, ongoing role with a well-established Australian business
  • A varied, hands-on position with real ownership of the transport function
  • A supportive, safety-first team environment
  • Genuine scope to make improvements and build a career
