The opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Queensland sales team.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work from your home office while managing an established customer portfolio and developing new business opportunities across Queensland. The territory and customer base will be shared with an existing Business Development Manager, ensuring strong market coverage and ongoing support.
This autonomous role offers the opportunity to work with market-leading products while building long-term relationships through specification selling, project development and strategic account management.
Reports to: Managing Director
Territory: Queensland
Location: Home office, with support from our Melbourne Head Office
Travel: Regular travel throughout Queensland, including overnight travel when required
Key responsibilities
Promote, specify and sell industrial electrical connection products across multiple industrial sectors.
Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve agreed sales targets.
Manage both direct sales and specialised distributor channels.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while providing ongoing distributor field support.
Identify project opportunities and drive specifications through to successful sales conversion.
Work closely with colleagues to coordinate cross-territory projects through to final order placement.
Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity and forecasting within the company CRM system.
Provide weekly sales and activity reports to the Managing Director.
About you
Essential experience
Electrical background or qualification.
Minimum 7 years’ successful Business Development experience within industrial B2B, manufactured industrial equipment and specification selling.
Experience with industrial product suppliers such as NHP, Hagemeyer, Ramelec or similar.
Experience with electrical wholesalers such as MMEM, Rexel, Lawrence & Hanson or similar.
Proven success selling to industrial end users, electrical wholesalers and specialist distributors.
Established network with OEMs, system integrators, skid builders, EPCs, M&E consultants and other industrial stakeholders.
Strong CRM capability and pipeline management.
Personal attributes
Experience in industrial electrical sales and business development.
Commercially driven with strong sales and negotiation skills.
Customer-focused and relationship-oriented.
Highly motivated, proactive and able to work autonomously.
Technically capable, with the ability to quickly understand industrial products and provide suitable solutions.
