SchoolsOUT is expanding into South Australia, and we’re looking for experienced, enthusiastic OSHC Coordinators to help establish exceptional services across the Adelaide Hills, particularly in Bridgewater and Mount Barker.

Training, mentoring and ongoing hands-on support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a high-quality educational program that reflects children’s interests, ideas, cultures and individual needs.

Act as the Responsible Person for each session, providing confident leadership to children and team members.

Establish a strong child-safe culture where the safety and wellbeing of children guide every decision.

Ensure children understand their rights, are encouraged to speak up and have access to child-friendly feedback and complaints processes.

Actively listen and respond to children’s voices, particularly when making decisions about the program, environment and their safety.

Maintain professional boundaries and ensure all educators understand and follow SchoolsOUT’s Child Safe Code of Conduct.

Recognise, respond to, document and report concerns relating to harm, abuse, neglect, grooming or inappropriate conduct in accordance with South Australian mandatory reporting requirements.

Maintain safe physical and online environments, including appropriate supervision, digital-device practices and risk-management procedures.

Create a culturally safe and inclusive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disability and LGBTQIA+ children and young people.

Plan and deliver fun, engaging experiences - from arts, STEM and cooking to sports and outdoor adventures.

Mentor educators through regular training, reflective discussions, observations and professional feedback.

Build positive relationships with children, families, schools and the wider Adelaide Hills community.

Maintain clear and consistent communication between SchoolsOUT and the school community.

Ensure the service consistently complies with the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, South Australian child-safe environment requirements and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

Lead quality improvement, risk assessment, incident management and service compliance processes.

Ensure the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every child while keeping the fun alive!

About You

You will be a confident, energetic and child-focused leader who understands that child safety is everyone’s responsibility. You’ll bring strong professional judgement, excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to creating an environment where children feel safe, valued and empowered.

You will also have:

Previous leadership or Coordinator experience within an OSHC service.

A Diploma in School Age Education and Care, Early Childhood Education and Care or another approved equivalent qualification - or a willingness to obtain one.

Alternatively, a relevant approved qualification in education, recreation, physical education, sport science, youth work, community services, health or allied health.

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications - or a willingness to obtain them.

A current South Australian Working with Children Check for paid employment - or the ability to obtain one.

A current National Police Check.

Current RRHAN-EC certification - or a willingness to complete the required Fundamentals and Masterclass training.

National Child Safety Training - or a willingness to complete all required modules within the prescribed timeframe.

A strong understanding of mandatory reporting, professional boundaries, protective practices and child-safe environments.

The confidence to identify and respond appropriately to child-safety concerns.

A genuine commitment to promoting children’s agency, participation and right to be heard.

Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.

A flair for thinking outside the box and bringing fresh ideas to life.

Position Information

Locations throughout the Adelaide Hills, with an initial focus on Bridgewater and Mount Barker.

School-term shifts will generally operate between 6:30am–9:00am and 2:30pm–6:30pm.

Holiday-program shifts will vary between 6:30am–6:30pm.

Part-time and casual opportunities may be available.
