This is an opportunity to use your HR expertise in a role where good people practices directly support the quality of services we provide to Territorians.

What you’ll do

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll:

Provide practical HR advice and support to leaders on employee relations, performance management and other workplace matters

Support HR case management, including investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes

Manage employee compliance processes, including regular audits, monitoring and follow-up of outstanding requirements

Coordinate workers compensation and injury management, including claims management and return-to-work planning

Build leader capability through coaching and guidance on employment legislation, organisational policies and contemporary people management practices

Coordinate Somerville’s performance review process and support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives

Contribute to HR policy development, reporting and continuous improvement of HR processes and practices

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a capable and approachable HR practitioner who uses sound judgement, takes ownership and follows things through. You’ll be comfortable navigating sensitive or challenging situations and working collaboratively with people across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

Demonstrated HR experience across employee relations, compliance and people management practices

Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and contemporary HR practices, with the ability to apply these in a practical workplace setting

Experience in HR case management, including investigations, grievances, performance management and disciplinary processes

Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the confidence to provide guidance and support to leaders

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Discretion, integrity and attention to detail when handling sensitive and confidential information

Confidence using HR systems and Microsoft 365

A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded, along with experience in disability, community services or the not-for-profit sector.
