Role Overview

The Department Lead is responsible for overseeing Corporate Relations, Membership, and Alumni strategies and operations. This role provides leadership in developing, implementing, and managing engagement initiatives for students, alumni, members, and corporate partners, while driving membership growth, retention, and career outcomes. The role also represents the institute externally and works closely with senior leadership to advance institutional objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance

Oversee Corporate Relations, Membership, and Alumni programs and initiatives in alignment with institutional goals.

Create and implement corporate membership, alumni, and engagement strategies, including policies and procedures.

Manage the department’s budget and lead a team of Executives and Officers to achieve agreed KPIs.

Update governing board committees or senior steering committees on progress against corporate membership and alumni goals.

Manage the integration of corporate relations practices into the existing operating model, addressing operational challenges as needed.

Membership & Alumni Engagement

Conceptualise, plan, organise, and implement membership and alumni activities through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Develop and implement membership retention programmes, including communication materials, membership collaterals, and EDMs.

Formulate membership acquisition strategies, including promotion, branding, recruitment, and engagement campaigns.

Improve membership recruitment strategies and develop strong value propositions to enhance member and alumni engagement.

Maintain accurate records of membership, alumni, and event participation, including administrative oversight of engagement programmes.

Student Engagement & Interest Groups

Manage student interest groups and organise regular engagement activities to enhance student experience.

Conduct presentations during student orientations, class visits, and engagement sessions to promote events and initiatives.

Administer post-event surveys and use feedback to improve engagement programmes.

Corporate Relations, Career & Industry Engagement

Plan and organise corporate events, engagement activities, sponsorships, and industry talks.

Develop and grow career assistance services, including expanding the database of corporate partners for internships and job placements.

Analyse membership and corporate engagement reports, measuring and evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of related activities.

Communications & Marketing

Lead outreach to members, alumni, students, and corporate partners through multiple communication channels.

Create and oversee the development of effective marketing and promotional collaterals for membership, alumni, and engagement initiatives.

Create impactful internal and external communications that inspire action and build broad-based support for corporate membership strategies.

Systems, Processes & Reporting

Review relevant operating systems and workflows and recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of engagement, membership, and corporate relations activities.

Stakeholder & External Relations

Represent the institute at public forums, events, and industry platforms to strengthen stakeholder relationships and enhance corporate reputation.

Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key external stakeholders, including corporate partners, community groups, NGOs, policy-makers, and media.

Work collaboratively with senior leadership across the organisation to influence, align, and advance corporate membership and alumni initiatives.

Requirements

Experience in strategic planning, budget management, and team leadership.

· Strong knowledge of Singapore's education regulatory environment and compliance requirements.

· Ability to manage multiple departments and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

· Proficient in data analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making.

· Experience in planning and executing corporate events, membership programs, and marketing campaigns.

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities within deadlines.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant management information systems.

· Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, boards, officials, directors, and other stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in a related field, Masters preferred.

· At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate membership sales and/or partnership development.
