Mars Recruitment is partnering with a global bank who are seeking an experienced Loan Operations Officer to join a high-performing Corporate Banking Operations team supporting wholesale banking clients across the Asia Pacific region.

This role sits within a Global Service Centre environment and plays a key part in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of corporate lending, payments, settlements, and account services. You will be supporting a complex regional business spanning Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end support of corporate lending and agency operations, ensuring seamless transaction processing and exceptional service delivery across wholesale banking clients.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Product, Treasury, Compliance, Technology, and external service providers to ensure operational integrity and smooth execution of daily banking activities.

Please note that this role supports the APAC market resulting in the following work-hours:

• 12:30pm - 9:00pm during non-daylight savings
• 11:30am - 8:00pm during daylight savings

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor end-to-end transaction flows and resolve operational breaks or issues
• Ensure accurate, timely and compliant processing of payments, settlements, and reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve cash, data, system, and transactional discrepancies
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and adherence to SLAs
• Support client and internal queries relating to payments, cut-offs, and transaction processing
• Assist with account onboarding and set-up of payment channels
• Ensure compliance with AML, sanctions, and internal risk frameworks
• Prepare and contribute to operational and regulatory reporting
• Support internal audits, controls, and assurance activities
• Identify and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives
• Collaborate across global teams and support cross-functional projects
• Maintain strong documentation and participate in cross-training activities

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced banking operations environment and enjoys working with complex, high-volume transaction flows.

• 2-4 years' experience in banking operations, payments, or corporate lending support
• Strong understanding of wholesale banking products (lending, trade finance, or similar)
• Knowledge of payment systems such as SWIFT, RTGS, CHAPS/FPS or equivalent
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
• Mandarin or Cantonese language skills highly regarded (but not essential)
