About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Valuer to join our Asset Advisory team, specialising in Plant, Machinery, and Infrastructure valuations.
This role will suit a candidate who has already developed foundational experience in asset valuation and is looking to further specialise in complex, large-scale assignments. You will support experienced Valuers in delivering high-quality valuation services across diverse asset classes, including mining, ports, infrastructure, and institutional assets.
Working closely with senior Valuers, you will contribute to inspections, data analysis, and the preparation of detailed valuation reports for financial reporting and insurance purposes, ensuring all outputs meet professional and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing a portfolio of clients while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Analyse and compile asset data and market evidence to support valuations
- Assist in preparing valuation reports and schedules with a high level of accuracy
- Participate in inspections and valuations of plant, machinery, and infrastructure assets
- Utilise valuation systems and maintain accurate documentation and records
- Support timely delivery of valuation reports and communicate delays where required
- Maintain high reporting standards, ensuring all outputs are professional and complete
- Assist in updating existing valuations, including conducting research and re-inspections
- Provide administrative support, including booking travel and accommodation
- Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain professional client interactions
- Contribute to team development, continuous improvement, and professional standards
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to valuation methodologies across specialised asset classes (highly regarded)
- Familiarity with macro-economic factors impacting plant and equipment markets
- Experience working within structured valuation systems or report templates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow processes and procedures efficiently and accurately
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 12+ months experience in plant and machinery or infrastructure valuation, ideally within an advisory or consultancy environment
- Demonstrated exposure to valuing complex assets or large portfolios, such as mining, ports, infrastructure or institutional assets
- Experience contributing to valuations for financial reporting and/or insurance purposes
- Relevant tertiary degree in related field or working towards
- Current Drivers Licence
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
