About the Role
This is a rare greenfield opportunity to help build the frontend platform from the ground up in one of the most technically demanding industries — airline and airport operations.
This role is a 12-month contract role or we may offer full time permanent role for a strong candidate.
You will work closely with our frontend and platform team to build clean, reliable and user-friendly web applications. You will help turn product designs into working interfaces, connect frontend screens to APIs, and improve the usability of our internal and customer-facing tools.
You will not be expected to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals, curiosity, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
What you’ll do
As a Junior Frontend Developer, you will:
• Build and maintain frontend features using TypeScript, SvelteKit, HTML and CSS
• Work with senior developers to implement screens, forms, workflows and reusable UI components
• Integrate frontend views with backend APIs
• Help test and debug frontend behaviour across browsers and devices
• Work from Figma designs and product requirements
• Participate in code reviews and learn modern engineering practices
• Help improve the quality, consistency and usability of our platform
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product leads and designers
What we’re looking for
You should have:
• Some commercial, internship, bootcamp or personal project experience with frontend development
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as Svelte, React, Vue or similar
• Ability to turn designs into clean, responsive interfaces
• Basic understanding of APIs and how frontend applications communicate with backend services
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions
• Attention to detail and pride in clean user interfaces
• A positive attitude and desire to grow as a developer
Nice to have
Not required, but helpful:
• Experience with SvelteKit
• Experience using Git
• Experience with Figma
• Basic testing experience
• Understanding of accessibility and responsive design
• Interest in aviation, travel technology or operational systems
What you’ll learn
This role will give you exposure to:
• Real-world product engineering
• Airline and airport operations software
• API-driven frontend development
• Modern TypeScript and SvelteKit practices
• Working with senior engineers on architecture, testing and quality
• Building software for complex operational workflows
Why join us
• Work on a real product with long-term technical depth.
• Learn directly from experienced engineers
• Small team with meaningful ownership
• Brisbane-based team with room to grow
• Opportunity to develop into a mid-level frontend or full-stack engineer over time
How to apply
Please apply with your resume and, if available, a link to your GitHub, portfolio, personal projects or examples of frontend work.
